MTA Applications

MTA Application is the process of filling the canals with a gel material called MTA in cases where the root of the tooth to be treated is enlarged.

Mineral trioxide aggregate was initially developed as a root tip filler to be used in periapical surgical applications to prevent the relationship between the root canal system and the surrounding tissues.

The material is also used in different clinical applications such as root tip filling, direct pulp capping, repair of root and furcal perforations and apexification.
